NFL Hall of Fame Player and Friends
Party with the Community in a Two Day Celebration

Atlanta -- August 10, 2000 -- Why are Hall of Fame running back Tony Dorsett and other NFL football celebrities converging on Atlanta on August 11 and 12? They'll be signing autographs, posing for pictures and chatting with fans at the opening of PostNet, a new minority business offering postal and office support services.

"PostNet is really a 'football' kind of place," Dorsett joked. "Everyone here knows how to make it into the end zone." PostNet is owned by James Palmer and his partners Ron Springs, formerly of the Dallas Cowboys, and Shawn Spring of the Seattle Seahawks. "It's a pleasure to take part in the launching of their business. Minority-owned businesses are the foundation for stronger, healthier communities where individuals can realize their fullest potential," said Dorsett.

Dorsett and other acclaimed football "alumni" such as Mel Gray (Houston Oilers, New Orleans Saints, Detroit Lions), Ron Springs (Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Buccaneers) and Everson Walls (Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants) will be at PostNet at 10:30 a.m.  on Friday, August 11 to participate in the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The festivities resume on Saturday, August 12 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with an autograph signing session.

About Tony Dorsett

Tony Dorsett was the first running back to gain over 6,000 yards in Division I-A. In 1976, he led the University of Pittsburgh to a national championship and won the Heisman Trophy as the best college player in the country. Dorsett played 11 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys and one with the Denver Broncos. He holds the fourth-best record as running back (12,739 yards). He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1994.
